Opposition Party Considers No-Confidence Motion Against Health Minister Keheliya Over Alleged Drug Quality Issues

Member of Parliament Kavinda Jayawardena, representing the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Party, has announced their intention to bring a motion of no confidence against Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella. The decision stems from concerns over reported deaths in the country that are allegedly linked to the use of poor-quality drugs.

Speaking to the media after a meeting with the Leader of the Opposition, MP Kavinda Jayawardena highlighted the party's focus on addressing the issue of substandard drugs and its impact on public health. The decision to consider a motion of no confidence against the Health Minister reflects their determination to hold the responsible parties accountable.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya Party has expressed deep concern over the reported deaths believed to be associated with the use of low-quality drugs. In response, they plan to make a formal complaint to the World Health Organization (WHO) regarding the individuals or entities responsible for compromising the country's health system.
