A grieving mother has raised serious concerns over the untimely demise of her daughter, alleging that it occurred shortly after receiving an injection at the Peradeniya General Hospital. The incident has prompted an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

Chamodi Sandeepani, a 21-year-old who had been experiencing indigestion, was initially admitted to the Kotaligoda Regional Hospital. Due to the severity of her condition, she was subsequently transferred to the Peradeniya General Hospital for further medical care.

According to Chamodi's mother, her daughter's health deteriorated after receiving an injection during her treatment, leading to a concerning change in her physical appearance.

"My child complained of stomach pain and was taken to the hospital. Initially, we went to Kotaligoda, and on the 10th, she was transferred to Peradeniya. In Ward 17, she received a cannula and saline solution at around 3:30 PM. Subsequently, two medications were administered. Immediately after the injection, something happened to my child's eyes, and she expressed a premonition of impending distress. Shortly after, my daughter went to the bathroom, where she collapsed with a bluish discoloration spreading throughout her body. Despite my desperate cries, nurses rushed to her aid and transferred her back to the ward," the grieving mother shared with the media.

The mother expressed her anguish and emphasized that her daughter had not suffered from any other ailments prior to this incident. She voiced her distress at the sudden loss of her only daughter and called for answers regarding the circumstances surrounding her tragic passing.

Following the distressing allegations made by the mother, authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter.
