Dehiwala police have successfully apprehended the suspect known as "Rokshi Vatte Ranji" who stole a white gold necklace and money from the son of Member of Parliament Dayasiri Jayasekara. 

The suspect was arrested in Dehiwala, and the stolen necklace worth approximately one hundred and sixty thousand rupees was recovered from their possession.

The incident occurred three days ago when the victim, accompanied by his girlfriend, was engaged in a conversation near the Village Officer's office on Bambalapitiya Lairds Road. At that moment, the suspect approached them on a bicycle and demanded money. Despite stating that they had no cash on hand, the suspect brandished a sharp knife and forcefully took three thousand rupees from the dashboard of their car.

Following the incident, the Dehiwala police launched an investigation, utilizing available resources to identify and apprehend the suspect. Their efforts proved successful, culminating in the arrest of "Rokshi Vatte Ranji" in Dehiwala. The police were able to recover the stolen white gold necklace, restoring it to its rightful owner.
