Intelligence Failure Leading To Easter Sunday Attacks: Police Sergeant Dismissed After Invesigation

The Inspector General of Police has ordered the dismissal of an Intelligence Division police sergeant who was on duty at the Katana Police during the tragic Easter attacks on April 21, 2019.

Following a thorough preliminary investigation into the officer's conduct during the incident, it was determined that he had failed to fulfill his assigned duties effectively.

Consequently, the police sergeant faced disciplinary proceedings, resulting in the issuance of charge sheets containing 12 charges of breach of discipline.

In light of the investigation's findings, the police headquarters has confirmed that the police sergeant has pleaded guilty to all charges brought against him. As a consequence, the Inspector General of Police has made the decision to terminate the officer's service.
