The Colombo Fort Magistrate's Court has ordered the remand of Saddharathana Thero of Rajangana, who is currently under custody, until the 21st of this month.
This decision was made following careful consideration of the facts presented by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the defense lawyers, relating to the Thero's alleged statement that insulted Buddhism.
The remand order was issued by Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage, who examined the evidence and arguments put forth by both the prosecution and the defense.
The court took into account the serious nature of the alleged statement made by Saddharathana Thero, which is said to have insulted the principles of Buddhism.
