Dr. Harsha De Silva, Member of Parliament of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance.

The appointment was made according to a proposal by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The Chairmanship of the Committee on Public Finance was debated at length in Parliament in recent days.

Dr. De Silva is a former Minister of Finance and a well-known economist. He is known for his expertise in public finance and his strong track record in managing the country's finances.
