[AUDIO] State Minister Rohana Dissanayake Accused of Issuing Death Threats to Matale District Depot Manager

Tensions escalated in Matale as State Minister Rohana Dissanayake allegedly issued death threats and engaged in a heated altercation with the manager of the Matale District Depot.

The incident was triggered by the allocation of a new bus to the Laggala Weligama to Mahiyangana route via Ratthota Riverstern.

For an extended period, commuters and students in the area had been grappling with a lack of suitable transportation options. Recognizing the dire need, Minister of State for Defense, Pramitha Bandara Thennakone, intervened and arranged for a new bus to service the route. The move was welcomed by many, as it significantly improved the daily commute for a substantial number of individuals.

However, this development did not sit well with State Minister Dissanayake, who expressed his dissatisfaction over not receiving any political advantage from the allocation. Allegedly upset by the situation, Dissanayake proceeded to vent his frustration on the manager of the Matale District Depot, whose responsibility included overseeing the distribution and management of buses in the area.

The audio clip of a heated exchange between Dissanayake and the depot manager has now been leaked to the media. During the conversation, the state minister resorts to threatening language. The threats issued by Dissanayake have raised concerns about the safety and security of the depot manager.
