A five-member special medical board has submitted a written request to the Colombo Magistrate's Court today, urging the exhumation of the body of Dinesh Schaffter, Director of Janashakti Insurance Group. The board seeks to determine the cause of Schafter's untimely demise.

Citing the necessity of examining the deceased's body to ascertain the circumstances surrounding his death, the special medical board has appealed to Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya for permission to proceed with the exhumation.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the court has responded by setting a future date to convene the case and issue an order. The court will summon the Criminal Investigation Department to further investigate the matter.
