Piyath Nikeshala, a well-known social media activist, was attacked by a group led by the Deputy Mayor of Kaduwela on the evening of May 10th. The group also damaged his vehicle during the incident, which took place in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, the group, consisting of several individuals, approached Nikeshala and physically assaulted him. The attack left the activist with severe cuts and injuries. Nikeshala was immediately rushed to the Thalangama hospital for medical attention.
