The National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) has recently issued a circular aimed at streamlining the visa process for foreigners who intend to work in NGOs. As per the circular, online visa applications will now be accepted, and the validity period of Residence Visas has been extended up to one year.

To apply for a visa, foreigners can visit the website www.eta.gov.lk. This initiative has been taken to facilitate the process for foreign nationals, thereby increasing the government's revenue.

Sanjeeva Wimalagunaratne, Director General of the Secretariat of Non-Governmental Organizations, has issued this circular after taking into consideration the requests, grievances, and suggestions received from non-governmental organizations. The move is expected to create a more convenient process for foreigners who are coming to work in non-governmental organizations.
