NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake says that a group of MPs of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will join the government to support the President.

He made this remark while attending a public meeting held in Kolonnawa area.

A number of SJB MPs have already expressed support to the economic agenda initiated by President Ranil Wickremesinghe. However, they have not made it clear if they are willing to join the ruling party.

However, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa said that Samagi Jana Balawega MPs will not give up their seats for money.

He said it was a blatant lie perpetuated by the ruling party to cause a division in the opposition. "In fact, some members from the ruling party will join the opposition soon," Premadasa said.
