KDN Ranjith Ashoka has been appointed by President Ranil Wickramasinghe as the new Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration Home Affairs Provincial Councils and Local Government.

Ashoka, who joined the Sri Lanka Administrative Service in 1990, is one of the most senior public administrators in the country.

He also worked as the Secretary to the Ministry of Industries and Commerce for some time.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Government has become a hot seat in the government sector due to the postponement of the Local Government election.
