Rumours are rife that current IGP C.D Wickramaratne will be given a service extension. While he is to retire tomorrow, the Police have not prepared a farewell guard of honour or sent across the IGP’s files to the welfare division which could signal that it is likely he might be given an extension. According to internal sources, the IGP may possibly receive a 6 months extension.
