Authorities have confirmed that no students are among the dead in the fatal accident that occurred a shortwhile ago in Radella, Nuwaraeliya. While seven deaths have occurred, six are from the van the bus collided with while the other is a three-wheeler driver.

The bus carrying students from Thurstan College in Colombo had collided with a bus before going down a precipice. The students had been returning to Colombo from a school trip. At least 30 persons have suffered injuries.

According to an eyewitness the bus had been travelling around 80Kmph down the dangerous slope when it collided with a van.
