Cabinet Minister for Water Supply & Estate Infrastructure Development, Jeevan Thondaman has broken a 46-year-old record by becoming the youngest cabinet minister to be appointed in Sri Lanka.
The previous record holder was current President Ranil Wickremesinghe who was sworn in as a cabinet minister at the age of 29 in 1977. Thondaman is 28 years old.
Thondaman was sworn in on Thursday (19) in the presence of President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
