An event was held in Colombo yesterday to remember journalists slain in Sri Lanka over the years. The event was organised by the Journalists for Rights organisation. It was attended by Sandya Ekneligoda and Nirmala de Alwis as well as politicians such as Karu Jayasuriya and Manusha Nananyakkara. 

Nirmala de Alwis recalled how the killers of her husband, Premakeerthi de Alwis even threatened to kill her son while Sandya Ekneligoda called on all responsible to deliver justice to those killed.
