The signing of 1000 affidavits on behalf of IUSF convenor Wasantha Mudalige took place today evening at the Galle Face Green. A large number of people took part in the event including those involved in the Aragalaya.

The signed affidavits are expected to be submitted to the courts.

Mudalige has been in remand prison for over 150 days over allegations of being involved in a conspiracy against the state. Mudalige was arrested in August under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. It is expected he will receive bail on 13 January when he is presented before the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court.
