Aragalaya activist Nuzly Hameem has put out a public appeal for funds in order to migrate.

Tweeting, Hameem said that “life has been tough lately and it seems like migrating is the only way forward as everything else have gone sideways”.

“Even for that, I am struggling to find financial help, as a last resort I have started a community funding, help me as much as you can,” he said in the tweet posted yesterday.

In his appeal on a public funding website, Hameem said he had lost his job in July 2022.

“I lost my job back in July. I have been applying for jobs ever since then, more than 1200 applications and still nothing. 7 month on going, all my savings have dried up and I have no way of surviving (sic).” he said.

“I have made plans to fly to the Middle East or so in order to find a job, but I do not have the financial capability to do this so. Hence why gogetfunding.com

I have planned on collecting 2 grands USD to go through this. I will make sure to use this money to find a job and get my life sorted. Once I am settled, I planning on spending 110% of the collected amount, to youngsters like me who are struggling with their careers (sic),” he added.

He has received 40 USD in donations from two donors since putting up the post.

Hameem was recently criticised for conducting an interview with SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa.
