Experts say the vendors are being forced to sell regular everyday items on an instalment basis as the purchasing power of the people has reduced leading to the loss of business. The public taking to social media following the revelation expressed their dismay at Sri Lanka becoming a country where people are being forced to buy a simple cake intended for a special occasion on an instalment basis due to its unaffordability.
