It has been revealed that a female staffer of a lifestyle magazine published by a leading media institution which also owns a television channel among other media outlets was involved in the deadly accident that took place in Colpetty over the weekend. The staffer said to be the editor of the magazine and also an Assitant Manager of another entertainment subsidiary of the main company had been a passenger of the Mercedez Benz car that struck a three-wheeler killing the driver instantly.
The woman seen on video being assaulted by several bystanders following the accident is believed to be this staffer from the media organisation. Despite not driving the vehicle, the woman, a mother of two was seen being attacked and harassed by the public.
According to the police, they have already arrested two females who were engaged in road cleaning duties, and are suspected of assaulting the female passenger.
The police are also on the hunt for another female who was seen assaulting the passenger.
The 58-year-old man, a three-wheeler driver and a father of three had died when the luxury car returning from a night club at R. A. De Mel Mawatha, Colombo crashed into the three-wheeler from behind on Saturday morning.
