President Ranil Wickremesinghe speaking in parliament said he will not allow another uprising or aragalaya to take place in Sri Lanka. He said he would impose emergency regulations and use the military to quash it.

He said people can obtain permission and protest. But the government would come down hard on those who do not follow this.
