The Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Ltd, more popularly known as Lake House the state owned newspaper media establishment has put up one of its iconic buildings for lease. In an advertisement the company has offered its Anuradhapura branch on lease for interested parties.
It is known that the state publishing organisation is currently in financial trouble and had introduced voluntary retirement schemes recently to cut down permanent staff. It had also laid off a large number of staff on contract to cut down costs.
