A video of Yehali Sangakkara, the wife of veteran cricketer Kumara Sangakkara has taken social media by storm. In it Yehali is seen on a stage, confessing to being a born-again Christian and crediting many successes in their lives including Sangakkara’s cricketing wins on their faith in God.

Yehali and Sangakkara have now come under fire on social media with many criticizing Yehali, especially claiming she has devalued her husband’s talent and efforts by crediting all his wins to their faith.

“I am a traditional Christian by birth. Sanga performed in the T20 World Cup because I prayed. Jesus gave us everything. Even our sick children were healed. One day it rained a lot, and our children were scared, we prayed. Suddenly the rain stopped. When the cricket friends in our life had problems, I solved their problems by kneeling and praying. I tell you today, believe that Jesus is there and talk to Jesus, and Jesus will talk to you” she said.

The video was from the Kingdom Culture in Kandy a new non-denominational ministry claiming to be born-again Christians.

The video has garnered many negative responses on social media.
