Social activist Oshala Herath has filed a petition to the Court of Appeal requesting to issue a writ to revoke the parliamentary seat of the State Minister for Tourism, Diana Gamage. Holding a press conference yesterday Herath said he had informed the government, Samagi Jana Balawegaya and the National Peoples Power party about the evidence against her. He said however none of them came forward to take any action.
“I complained that Diana was a British citizen and the CID conducted an investigation. A B-report was issued in April 2021. She had entered Sri Lanka using a Biritish passport. Todate she is residing in Sri Lanka as a foreigner. I informed Sajith and those in the Samagi Jana Balawegaya about this. No one took action. The police and the then government should also be held responsible for this. I even informed Anura Kumara. But all were against the B-report being presented to parliament.” he said.
