The Criminal Investigation Department has interrogated and obtained a statement for nearly 4 hours from popular film and television actress Semini Iddamalgoda for the investigation regarding Thilini Priyamali, who is currently remanded over a large-scale financial fraud.

The actress had been summoned by the CID who had arrived along with her husband, Dhammika Iddamalgoda who is also a Police officer.

Officers including Chief Inspector Jayantha Payagala, OIC of the Special Crime Investigation Unit, questioned her and obtained her statement.

The CID also questioned the film actress about her close relationship with Thilini Priyamali, the amount of money that Thilini had given her and the audio tapes. However, the actress has denied any connection to Thilini Priyamali and other allegations of tapes of their conversations.
