An official from the Government Department of Foresincs confirmed that the third DNA report relating to Sara Jasmine aka Pulasthini Mahendran, the wife of Easter Sunday bomber Mohamed Hastun is now complete and will be submitted to courts shortly.

The fate of Jasmine remains uncertain following the Sainthamaruthu blast. Several DNA tests concluded previously could not find any trace of her as having died in the incident. A Policeman was also arrested following the Easter Sunday attack under the suspicion of helping Jasmine escape. Eyewitnesses have also claimed to have seen her in the early hours of the morning after the Sainthamaruthu blast.

Senior Superintendent of Police Samantha Wijesekera, who testified before the Presidential Commission investigating the series of terrorist attacks on Easter Sunday, had stated that it has not been confirmed that Sarah Jasmine died in the Sainthamaruthu blast.
