Former Governor of Western Province Azath Salley visited the Criminal Investigation Department today (17) to provide a statement regarding Thilini Priyamali, who is currently in remand over charges of defrauding millions from the wealthy and powerful in Sri Lanka.

Salley had claimed he had handed over Rs. 80 million to her after being introduced by Janaki Siriwardene to her. Siriwardene is believed to be connected to the Krish mixed development project. Another complainant had also told the CID, he was introduced to Priyamali by Janaki at the residence of Azath Salley.
