Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara has said the government will not levy income taxes on foreign worker remittances under the proposed income tax law reforms. He confirmed this while addressing a press briefing this week.

The Minister said remittances from Sri Lankan migrant workers which had dropped to around USD 220 million in recent times have now increased to USD 360 million monthly.
