Western province education officials have decided to suspend any inquiry or action against the teachers seen dancing to the Madyapana Beema Joliya song at a Children's Day event held recently. The Department announced it would take action against two teachers from the Kadirana Junior School in Negombo after a video surfaced online showing the teachers dancing to the song along with students. 

However, the decision drew major backlash on social media, perhaps resulting in the authorities deciding to suspend any action against the teachers going forward. Srilal Nonis the Srilal Nonis Provincial Director of Education - Weather province said action or inquiry against the teachers has now been deemed as unnecessary.
