Sri Samanthabadra Thera says he advised President Ranil Wickremesinghe on how to decimate the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) during his visit to Umandawa recently. The Thera admitted this during a video interview with a local Sinhala language newspaper.

“I told him not only how to push them up against a wall. But how to push them through the wall and destroy them” he said.

The Thera a known critic of the party appeared to be miffed at those leaving negative comments on his video claiming them to be JVP supporters or ‘Jeppo’. Relating the story of Chanakya, the Tamil philosopher and the fate of King Mahapadmananda who insulted Chanakya at the hands of Chandragupta Maurya, Thera said “one should not insult philosophers. Who leaves all these negative comments on my videos? It is these stupid Jeppo (JVP supporters). That is because they will not be able to engage in politics when around 10 of these Umandawa’s are built” he said.
