French Ambassador Eric Lavertu says 46 illegal Sri Lankan orgin immigrants have been arrested while attempting to enter islands belonging to the country. According to him, steps will be taken to repatriate them soon. Lavertu revealed this information during a meeting with Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles this week. He also said an awareness campaign is being formulated with Police, Immigration authorities etc to prevent Sri Lankan immigrants arriving in islands belonging to France.
