The courts have released on bail the driver of Easter Sunday attacker Zahran Hashim and three others who were arrested under suspicion for being connected to the terror attacks in April 2019.

The order to release them on bail was given by the Batticaloa Magistrate N.M Abdullah.

The four have been charged with killing two police officers at the Vavunathivu Police post in late 2018. The case was taken up before the courts yesterday where they were released under Rs. 35 000 personal bail each and Rs. 1 million surety bail. It was also ordered their passports be handed over to the courts and that they should be present before the court on January 12 for the next hearing.
