Acting Minister of Defence, Pramitha Bandara Tennekoon says protestors must inform Police and obtain permission at least six hours prior to holding a protest. According to him no obstructions will be caused to protest held in a peaceful manner after obtaining the necessary permissions.

Tennekoon has been appointed as Acting Minister of Defence in lieu of President Ranil Wickremesinghe who is also the Minister of Defence due to his visit to Japan.
