State Minister of Higher Education Suren Raghavan says university students who are found guilty of ragging must be blacklisted. He said a process must be implemented where such students are not recruited to the state service.
The State Minister made these comments in connection to the recent ragging incident reported from the University of Peradeniya recently where three students were arrested under suspicion.
He said the brutal ragging culture must be stopped and the current laws are sufficient to take action against the wrongdoers.
The state minister opined that if found guilty, the student should not only be barred from classes but their degree should be revoked. He also said media should be allowed to enter universities.
