The Government today (13) declared 19 September as a special hodliy for all the State institutions, in view of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As a mark of respect to the Late Queen, the national flag is flown at half-mast at all state buildings while a day of mourning has been declared for 19 September as well.
Meanwhile, President Ranil Wickremesinghe will attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in Britain, the President's Media Division (PMD) announced on Sunday (11).
The state funeral for the Queen will be held at Wesminister Abbey on 19 September.
Queen Elizabeth II was Sri Lanka's head of state until May 1972 when the country left the British sovereign to become a republic.
