Colombo Archbishop's House told the media that Sunday masses would not be held under further notice due to the current situation in the country.
Meanwhile, Police continue to provide security to religious establishments and schools in the wake of the Easter Sunday explosions.
The government has also deployed more security personnel to ensure the protection of Cardinal Malcolm Ranjith Ranjith.
Although Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe ordered to release a bullet-proof vehicle from his fleet for the use of Cardinal Ranjith, the latter immediately turned down the offer.
