The Police Media Spokesman confirmed that 40 people have so far been arrested Easter Sunday attacks which killed 311 people in Sri Lanka. 

He said 26 people are currently being interrogated by the CID while 03 people are under the custody of the TID. 

Meanwhile, Reuters news service reported that a Syrian national has also been arrested over the Easter Sunday attacks. 

Addressing a press conference at Temple Trees yesterday, Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said an organization called National Thowheed Jamath was behind the incident.
