Ranishka Aluthgamage, the son of UPFA MP Mahindananda Aluthgamage, UNP Colombo Municipal Councillor Duminda Artigala, Omesh Ratnayake, the Son of President Security Division SP Pradeep Ratnayake have been arrested by the police over the hit-and-run involving the Traffic OIC of the Borella police station. 

The Police officer is on a ventilator at the National Hospital in Colombo, with serious head injuries, Asian Mirror learns. 
The SUV that was involved in the accident was found parked at a residence in Battaramulla, last evening. The accident occurred in Bambalapitiya, at 4.30 last morning, while the officer was travelling to the Kollupitiya police station while on duty. 

Initial investigations revealed that the suspects were returning from a night club in Colombo when their vehicle hit the OIC's motorcycle. 

Police have conducted tests to ascertain whether the suspects were drunk when they knocked over the Police officer who sustained critical injuries due to the accident.
