Ports, Shipping and Southern Development Minister Sagala Ratnayaka said the draft national policy for maritime and logistics sectors would be presented to the Cabinet after a month.
The Minister tweeted that public views and feedback from industry stakeholders on the draft policy would be gathered within the next four weeks.
Ratnayaka said he was open to amend the draft policy accordingly depending on the feedback from industry stakeholders.
Upon Cabinet approval, the Minister said, the policy would be considered the guiding document for maritime and logistics sectors in Sri Lanka in the coming years.
The draft document was shared among industry stakeholders and members of the industry representative bodies at a special ceremony held at the Ports and Shipping Ministry auditorium last week.
The draft policy was drafted by a committee headed by Ports and Shipping Ministry Secretary Dr. Parakrama Dissanayake.
