UPFA Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa arrived at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to give a statement on President Maithripala Sirisena's life. 

Weerawansa was asked to appear before the CID to seek clarification on some information revealed by the Indian national who has been arrested over the alleged plot. 

Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa too made a statement before the CID on the same matter, last week. '

The CID will also obtain a statement on MP Weerawansa's life, Shashi Weerawansa, on the alleged assassination plot. 

However, multiple media reports have stated that the Indian national who had been arrested over the alleged plot is not of sound mind.
