Parliamentarian Namal Rajapaksa was questioned by the CID yesterday on the alleged assasination plot on President Maithripala Sirisena.
Making a statement on his Twitter account, Rajapaksa said he was summoned by the CID to seek clarification on some information revealed by the Indian national who has been arrested over the alleged plot.
Rajapaksa highlighted the need for a "proper investigation" into the allegations as they involve national security and Sri Lanka's diplomatic relations.
However, multiple media reports have stated that the Indian national who had been arrested over the alleged plot is not of sound mind.
The CID is also expected to record statements from Parliamentarian Wimal Weerawansa and his wife, Shashi Weerawansa.
