President Maithripala Sirisena shuffled his newly-appointed governors today when he transferred the new governor of the Uva province, Keerthi Tennakoon, to the Southern province.
Tennakoon, formerly an elections monitor, is also a pro-Sirisena civil society activist.
Meanwhile, he appointed Marshal Perera as the new Governor of the Uva province.
Marshal Perera is the father of former State Minister Dilan Perera, an SLFP MP and an ardent supporter of President Maithripala Sirisena.
Marshal Perera, a senior lawyer, has held the same position before.
