The Colombo Fort Magistrate today banned Namal Kumara from making any media statement about the alleged plot to kill President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Magistrate made the order following a request by the Criminal Investigations Department conducting inquiries into the matter.
The CID informed the court on Wednesday that Kunara had deserted the military service.
The CID also said investigations were underway into allegations that he presented false certificates to join the military service.
The CID said Kumara had failed seven subjects in his GCE Ordinary Level examination and therefore he was not eligible to join the military service.
Kumara, a former worker at the Presidential Secretariat, had joined the Army and the Navy separately, the CID informed the magistrate today.
Meanwhile, Kumara told the media earlier this week that he wanted to meet President Maithripala Sirisena in person to reveal "more secrets" about the assassination plot. He went to the Presidential Secretariat yesterday and made a formal request to meet President Sirisena.
