President Maithripala Sirisena visited the SLFP headquarters yesterday which remained close until his return from Thailand.
SLFP General Secretary Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa and other senior party officials also visited the SLFP HQ premises with the President.
Among them were UPFA MP Dayasiri Jayasekera and Western Province Chief Minister Isura Devapriya.
During his visit to the party office premises, the President spoke to some of its workers and wished them for the new year.
However, it is reported that the President has ordered the staff at the SLFP HQ not to allow former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and her supporters from entering the premises.
It is also learnt that nearly 25 electorate organizers of the SLFP have threatened to resign from their posts in protest of President Sirisena's leadership.
