President Maithripala Sirisena has ordered to close down the SLFP Head Quarters until his return from Thailand.
The decision comes in the wake of a tense situation occurred at the SLFP HQ during a meeting with party organizers, a few days ago.
No party official or member will be permitted to enter into the HQ premises for any reason during the temporary closure, Asian Mirror learns.
Several party organizers had attempted to assault SLFP General Secretary Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa over the party's decision to join forces with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).
party sources said the HQ would be re-opened after President Maithripala Sirisena's return from Thailand.
