UPFA Parliamentarian Kumara Welgama says he will boycott all meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena.
Speaking to the Divaina newspaper, owned by his brother Nimal Welgama, Kumara Welgama said he did not wish to have any political association with President Sirisena.
Welgama said yesterday that Sirisena should resign from office with immediate effect as the Supreme Court ruled that he had violated the Constitution.
The UPFA Parliamentarian has been critical of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's move to enter into a political alliance with President Sirisena.
Speaking to the media after the formation of the purported government, Welgama said the move would drive the Sri Lanka Podujana Party (SLPP), Rajapaksa's proxy party which won the last Local Government election, to the ground.
After Rajapaksa lost two no-confidence motions in the House, Welgama publicly stated that the UPFA should sit in the opposition as it had been proven that the party did not have a majority in Parliament.
