President Maithripala Sirisena, UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya have met last night for a closed-door meeting, informed political sources said. 

The meeting had taken place at the official residence of the President at Paget Road. 

Informed UNP sources said the President at the meeting had promised to appoint Wickremesinghe as the Prime Minister again. 

UNP sources expressed confidence that Wickremesinghe might take oaths as the Prime Minister today. 

The new Cabinet is expected to take oaths on Monday.
