President Maithripala Sirisena had stated this evening that he was not ready to reappoint UNP leader Ranil Wickremesinghe as the Prime Minister.
Speaking to UPFA MPs after the Supreme Court ruling, Sirisena had said he would not breakpoint Wickremesinghe even if it cost his presidency.
However, Sirisena had indicated at the meeting that he would be forced to appoint a new Cabinet as a result of the ruling.
The UPFA MPs have indicated that they are willing to step down from the government. However, they will make a final decision on the matter following the Supreme Court's response to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa's appeal against the Court of Appeal interim order tomorrow.
