President Maithripala Sirisena has convened an urgent meeting with all SLFP and SLPP MPs tonight at 7 PM, informed sources said.
The meeting is aimed at finding a solution to the current political deadlock.
Sources close to Sirisena told Asian Mitror earlier today that Sirisena was considering a referendum if the Supreme Court gave an unfavourable ruling against the dissolution of Parliament.
Addressing the convention of the SLFP last week, Sirisena said he would resolve the political crisis in seven days.
The timeline he set for himself although the political crisis is far from resolved.
