JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said President Maithripala Sirisena and UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe should be locked up in a room to resolve the current political crisis.
"Either they will kill each other, or hug each other," Dissanayake said, speaking to BBC Sandeshaya today.
"Whatever it is, the entire country should not be held to ransom due to a personal issue between two people," Dissanayake said, commenting on the current political situation.
To resolve the current crisis, he said, the President should hand over the government to those who have the majority. "That government does not have a right to govern the country for too long. It should be appointed for a few specific tasks. The first task of the new government should be to bring a special legislation to Parliament to prosecute those who were involved in the Constitutional coup.
JVP Leader also added that the new government should also take measures to abolish Executive Presidency.
"A General Election should be held only after the abolition of Executive Presidency," he said.
